PICANet launched the “Pictures for PICANet” design competition which ran until 31/05/2019.

The competition was to encourage children on the ward, or children visiting the ward, to design us some  artwork we can display on our website.

Prize Competition Rules for the 2019 Design competition

 This prize competition is run by the Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet): a collaborative audit between the University of Leeds and University of Leicester.

 The competition will run from 11/04/2019 until 31/05/2019.

 Entry to the competitions is restricted to UK residents and one entry per person.

 Entrants must be aged 15 years and under.

 Submissions should be from children being treated or children visiting a patient on the Paediatric Intensive Care unit.

 Entries should be the original work of the person named on the back.

 Entries can be a painting, pen or pencil drawing on A5, A4 or maximum A3 paper.

 There will be three top winners selected. Only the three winners will be eligible for prizes.

 Winners will be chosen by the PICANet Principal Investigators. The Principal Investigators’ decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

 Each prize will be UK High Street vouchers worth £30. No cash alternative will be offered.

 Prizes can only be sent to a valid UK address.

 Winners will be contacted via the details provided on the submitted artwork. If the winner cannot be reached after three attempts using the details provided, an alternative will be chosen after a suitable period of time.

 No personal details will be shared outside of the PICANet Team. Details provided to PICANet will be kept safe and not shared with anyone outside of PICANet.

 PICANet will display entries on our website. Winners’ artwork may also be used for the purposes of illustrating PICANet leaflets, posters and other publications used in conjunction with other PICANet literature in the future.

This statement explains how we use any personal information we collect about you (child / young person) or the child you care for as part of the Pictures for PICANet 2019 Design Competition

What data are being collected?
First name, surname, address and age of children entering the Pictures for PICANet 2019 Design Competition (submitted on the back of drawings as part of the competition)

What are the data being used for?

PICANet have a legitimate interest in developing new colourful images to use on their literature to help brighten PICANet related documents and make these items look more interesting and accessible to other children and their families / carers. To encourage children to design some images, PICANet are running a prize competition where winning entries will be identified.
Name and address will be used to notify winners of the outcome of the competition and send out the prizes. Age will be used to verify that entrants are under 16.
Where are the data held and for how long?
All of the entrants’ data is held in paper format at the University of Leeds in a locked cabinet in a locked room. It will be held until all winners have been contacted and sent their prizes.
Sharing data with other organisations
All personal details of winners and entrants will be held securely and will not be shared with anyone outside the PICANet Team at the University of Leeds.

What if I no longer want my personal details (or the personal details of the child I care for) to be held or used for the Pictures for PICANet 2019 Design Competition?

If you do not want your personal details (or personal details of the child you care for) to be held for the Pictures for PICANet 2019 Design Competition, please contact PICANet by telephone or email (details provided below) and we will ensure that your personal details destroyed. If the prizes are yet to be awarded this will cancel the competition entry.

You also have the right to request access to and to request to rectify information held about you or the child you care for.
