World Delirium Awareness Day – 11th March 2026

Today is World Delirium Awareness Day!

Check out our two new delirium videos from our Research Nurse, Lisa Mcllmurray.

Delirium Score – Why We Score

Drawing on current evidence and local practice in the UK and Ireland, our first delirium video explains how early identification of delirium can improve patient outcomes, reduce complications, and support more effective compassionate care.

Delirium Score – What We Record

In our second delirium video, we take a quick and practical look at how paediatric delirium screening is recorded on PICANet Web in the PICU Admission dataset. By walking through where to find the data fields, how to interpret the screening outcome, and how to ensure every patient has a complete daily entry.

Scheduled downtime for the PICANet Web application on Wednesday 11 March

We will take the PICANet Web application offline on the morning of Wednesday 11 March to allow for maintenance work. Please save all work and exit the application prior to 09:30.

Once complete, the only change will be that data validation queries for the delirium fields will be switched on for all PICUs. Some PICU teams will not experience any change as they are already validating the delirium data.

Thank you and apologies for any inconvenience caused by the downtime.
