We have released a Data Dashboard on our website which presents an overview of PICU activity and performance against PICANet’s clinically agreed key metrics.

The PICANet Data Dashboard is available to everyone and complements PICANet’s published reports and data. PICANet intend to refresh the Data Dashboard throughout the year and broaden the geographical scope for inclusion in some of the charts in due course.

We are pleased to announce that the PICANet State of the Nation Report 2022 has been published.

The report comprises the Summary Report, Infographic, Appendices and the Tables and Figures.

New for this year we have released a Quality Improvement page with resources for participating organisations.

The Infographic highlights some of the report’s key findings.

The PICANet State of the Nation Report 2022, covering the period January 2019 – December 2021, is planned to be published on our website on 9^th March 2023. Please keep a look out!

We are pleased to announce that the Level 2 admission dataset is now incorporated into PICANet Web database and online for data entry by those organisations who are participating in the first stages of the roll out across England. We look forward to continuing the roll out.

Please note: This only applies to the submission of data from the new participating Level 2 centres, any Level 2 data already submitted to PICANet Web as part of normal PICU/PCCU submission is unaffected

We regret that at this time PICANet are taking a temporary pause on processing new requests for data while we focus on completing the key deliverables for the national clinical audit. This is a short term measure which we will continue to review. We will resume as soon as practicably possible.

If you have submitted an enquiry or request before 10^th February 2023, we will continue to process this/ respond to you as soon as we can.

In the meantime, you might find the PICANet Reports and their associated tables and figures helpful. They are available on our Reports and Annual Report Archive webpages. We also have a number of reports in relation to COVID-19 available on the COVID-19 webpage.

The PICANet dataset for the period 01.01.2020 to 31.12.2022 will be frozen at 12 midnight on 31^st March 2023; it is essential that all event data for this period is completed and all validation queries resolved.

For children admitted prior to 31^st December 2022 who remain as inpatients on your unit please ensure that all daily intervention data up to and including 31^st December 2022 is complete.

Although there has been a reduction in the submission time of data to PICANet from three months to two months (PCCS standards 2021), we have not brought forward the data freeze this year due to the current climate. However, next year we plan to freeze on 01^st March 2024 to be in line with the new standards.

Thank you all for your efforts to work to 31^st March to enter and validate the data.
