A soft collection of data for delirium and two healthcare associated infections is available in the PICU Admission dataset from today, the 3rd May 2023. Collection of these data is not mandatory in 2023. Resources and FAQ to support the collection are available on the Data Collection and Data Manuals and Guidance webpages.
PICANet need to take the database offline on Wednesday 3rd May to allow us to incorporate the new healthcare associated infection and delirium fields into the PICU Admission dataset.

We have released a Data Dashboard on our website which presents an overview of PICU activity and performance against PICANet’s clinically agreed key metrics.
The PICANet Data Dashboard is available to everyone and complements PICANet’s published reports and data. PICANet intend to refresh the Data Dashboard throughout the year and broaden the geographical scope for inclusion in some of the charts in due course.

New for this year we have released a Quality Improvement page with resources for participating organisations.

The PICANet State of the Nation Report 2022, covering the period January 2019 – December 2021, is planned to be published on our website on 9th March 2023. Please keep a look out!
We are pleased to announce that the Level 2 admission dataset is now incorporated into PICANet Web database and online for data entry by those organisations who are participating in the first stages of the roll out across England. We look forward to continuing the roll out.
Please note: This only applies to the submission of data from the new participating Level 2 centres, any Level 2 data already submitted to PICANet Web as part of normal PICU/PCCU submission is unaffected
We regret that at this time PICANet are taking a temporary pause on processing new requests for data while we focus on completing the key deliverables for the national clinical audit. This is a short term measure which we will continue to review. We will resume as soon as practicably possible.
If you have submitted an enquiry or request before 10th February 2023, we will continue to process this/ respond to you as soon as we can.
