Picanet is celebrating 20 years of data collection in 2023!

As part of this, we would like to showcase the best ways our data has, and is being used.

We would like to know:

• Whether you have used PICANet data in the past 20 years
• If so, what for? (topics you have looked into etc)
• Where you have had any publications, conference abstracts or presentations which include the use of PICANet data.

Please contact picanet@leeds.ac.uk if you have anything that would be suitable.

PICANet, based at the Universities of Leeds and Leicester, will be closed for the summer bank holiday on Monday 28^th August 2023. The University of Leeds will also be closed on Tuesday 29^th August.

The final submission of COVID-19 and PIMS-TS Notification Form is due from PICUs on Monday 5^th June 2023. Following this date, returns are no longer required.

A soft collection of data for delirium and two healthcare associated infections is available in the PICU Admission dataset from today, the 3^rd May 2023. Collection of these data is not mandatory in 2023. Resources and FAQ to support the collection are available on the Data Collection and Data Manuals and Guidance webpages.

PICANet need to take the database offline on Wednesday 3^rd May to allow us to incorporate the new healthcare associated infection and delirium fields into the PICU Admission dataset.

Please save your work and exit the application before this time, any unsaved work will be lost. Please consider the system at risk until the news item in the PICANet Web database has been removed. Thank you

We have released a Data Dashboard on our website which presents an overview of PICU activity and performance against PICANet’s clinically agreed key metrics.

The PICANet Data Dashboard is available to everyone and complements PICANet’s published reports and data. PICANet intend to refresh the Data Dashboard throughout the year and broaden the geographical scope for inclusion in some of the charts in due course.

We are pleased to announce that the PICANet State of the Nation Report 2022 has been published.

This can be downloaded from our Reports page.

The report comprises the Summary Report, Infographic, Appendices and the Tables and Figures.

New for this year we have released a Quality Improvement page with resources for participating organisations.

The Infographic highlights some of the report’s key findings.

The PICANet State of the Nation Report 2022, covering the period January 2019 – December 2021, is planned to be published on our website on 9^th March 2023. Please keep a look out!
